What you keep and what you sell

Short answer: You keep the distributions paid to you before the sale; those paid after it go to the buyer, along with any related rights the SAC transfers.

Distributions paid to you before the sale are yours. Distributions paid after the sale belong to the buyer. An SAC (Sale and Assignment of Claim agreement) can transfer related rights along with the claim, such as rights in class actions over the FTX collapse and in government recovery funds. Check what exactly is included.

How much FTX has paid so far

In its July 17, 2026 announcement of the fifth distribution, FTX gave these cumulative distributions to date: Classes 5A and 5B, 105%; Classes 6A and 6B, 103%; Class 7 (Convenience Claims), 120%. FTX notes that actual percentages may differ slightly due to rounding. Above 100% of the allowed amount, the payments are post-petition interest. For claims other than Convenience Claims, FTX says any funds available for this interest are paid pro rata. More in the guide to interest on FTX claims.

How the offer is calculated

With Qredax, for a claim that has already received distributions, the offer is a percentage of the amount still to be paid; for a claim with no distributions yet, it is a percentage of face value. Send us your claim details, and a firm offer follows within one business day. Qredax charges sellers no fees and pays the $28 court transfer fee itself. How selling to Qredax works, step by step.

Record dates and the transfer

Short answer: FTX pays the buyer once the transfer is registered by the record date and the notice period is over; Qredax pays you when the SAC is signed.

FTX pays each distribution to the holder shown on the claims register as of its record date. For a transferred claim, FTX pays the buyer only once the transfer is processed and reflected on the register and the 21-day notice period has passed without objection. This is the condition for FTX to pay the buyer, not a deadline for paying you: Qredax pays you when the SAC is signed. If a distribution still reaches you after the sale, the SAC requires you to pass it on to Qredax.

Check for forfeited distributions

FTX advises claim buyers to confirm with the original holder that no earlier distribution on the claim was forfeited, for example because a tax form was not submitted in time. Be ready to show which distributions you have received.

Selling part of what remains

You can sell only part of the remaining claim and keep the rest; the SAC states exactly which part is sold. More in the guide to partial sales.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell an FTX claim after receiving distributions?
Yes. You keep what has already been paid to you and sell the right to what is still to be paid.
How is the offer calculated for a partly paid claim?
With Qredax, as a percentage of the amount still to be paid on the claim.
Who gets the next distribution after I sell?
The buyer, once the transfer is reflected on the claims register as of the record date and the 21-day notice period has passed without objection. If a payment still reaches you, the SAC requires you to pass it on to Qredax.
Does Qredax charge fees for such a sale?
No. Qredax charges sellers no fees and pays the $28 court transfer fee itself.
